In this project I used:
Canon T5 Camera with 18-55 mm IS Lens
LG G4 phone Camera
samson c01u Microphone
Audacity Audio Editor
Power Director Video Editor
Applause by Ovation Guitar
all video done by natural light
I don't have the best equipment but I love working with what I have. It forces me to think illogically about how to create what I want. All of the shots in my house were filmed by putting my (fancy) camera on top of my bookshelf, a plastic tupperware container, or just on the floor using the plastic bit of the safety strap to stop it from falling down. It's all filmed in natural light because I don't own a ring light or softboxes (also just don't have time for all of that stuff). And the actual video editing process took three days because my video editor is not really meant for projects with effects/jumpcuts/extra audio/multiple videos.
It's not a very "artsy" video. I wanted to play on what I know, which is broadcasting live editing, musicals, and youtube culture. We love narrating our lives and taking pictures and talking about what we know and "youtubers" are a prime example of that mentality. So of course, I love youtube to death. A lot of people don't consider these videos an art but I do. I think anything that lets you be creative, share stories, or have to "play around" with what you have is art.
I like to think this project was multimedia because it wasn't just a "vlog". (Aside from proclaiming my musical past) I got to play guitar, make artistic decisions, and in a way voice act.
