All matriculated students in programs that lead to New York State Certification and who do not have
prior NYS teacher certification are expected to submit their edTPA examination prior to graduation. If students have not submitted their edTPA prior to graduation, the School of Education will be unable to support them after graduation. In addition, if the edTPA is not passed before graduation the School of Education is also unable to support them in retaking the edTPA.
Students will complete this exam in the Learning Lab, during their second year at Hunter College.
Students who do not pass edTPA will have the opportunity to take the ATS-W (a written exam). All students who successfully meet all requirements for graduation will have their degree conferred, irrespective of their performance on edTPA while enrolled at Hunter College."
