This project has truly allowed me to experience the role of teachers and the role of learners in an early childhood setting. The use of assessment is crucial and although I have gained an immense amount of information on the various type of assessments used, I know there is always room for growth. For instance, throughout this project I realized I could’ve used certain assessment for certain activities. For example, incorporating the use of a checklist might’ve helped me better assess both students at once when assessing during the implementation process in all activities.
Planning has also been a major eye opening experience for me. I noticed that future candidates like myself must truly adhere to the expectations given by the teacher of any Early Childhood classroom. I also noticed how planning for assessments can change and one must be prepared to adjust to those changes in order to truly align with the goals and SLO needed to promote validity, reliability, and most importantly fairness to the child being assessed.
Overall, this project has allowed me to collaborate with teachers, classmates, and children!
