As part of the community, families of the Hudson Guild’s program are encouraged to take part in the facility’s activities or events. Many children are from single-headed homes, so the program acts as an outlet for personal growth. Since the school’s enrollment policy requires caretakers to be working or in school, the program seeks ways for families to meet those requirements. For instance, allowing the program to run from 8am-6pm daily, hosting career workshops, and providing referrals for families. Teachers are also connecting with families by informing parents on their child’s overall developmental and academic growth on a daily basis.
