Lucy Chen is a student of Hunter College's Urban Public Health Department with concentrations in Nutrition and Psychology.

 

She hasworked with the Horticultural Society of New York with previously incarcerated individuals in a horticultural therapy program and saw the benefits that it bestowed on the participants.

 

With the same goal in mind, Lucy has lead a group of recovering addicts towards a stronger sense of self fulfillment and interrelation with their surrounding community.Lucy's vision is to raise self- efficacy and self awareness of her participants through gardening and our connection with nature.

 

Lucy is currently working with Bed-Stuy Campaign Against Hunger in their Eat Well, Live Well program for low income seniors as a Garden for Health instructor. She hopes to help participants to improve overall health by increasing fresh food intake teaching participants to utilize their window cill as a mini garden.
