Bed-Stuy Campaign Against Hunger(BSCAH) is one of NYC's largest emergency food programs. The pantry is working vigorously to end hunger in the Bedford-Stuyvesant / Brownsville / Ocean Hill neighborhoods of Brooklyn.

BSCAH runs educational programs that serve their community. I am a Gardening for Health Instructor for their Eat Well and Live Well program.

The program is focused on increasing the nutrition quality of the meals distributed through our program. The program allows clients with high blood pressure, diabetes, and other dietary/health restrictions to come in once a week to pick up fresh fruits and vegetables, in order to help them maintain a healthy and balanced diet.

As the Gardening for Health Instructor, I teach low-income Seniors how to produce food in their homes while being sensitive to budget. My goal is to show participants that they can have healthy fresh grown food on a limited budget.
