Having been raised by a family of educators, my strong interest in teaching since an early age comes as no surprise. As I grew older, the sense of community and belonging radiating off the streets of Brooklyn, New York moved me in a way I couldn't really explain then. Older still, that love for my neighborhood grew into a desire, a yearning to somehow give back.

It wasn't long until I realized becoming a NYC public high school teacher would grant me the greatest opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our inner city youth. And so, in August of 2006, I decided to leave my undergraduate career in Mechanical Engineering in order to follow my passion to teach. And to this day it continues to be...

...one of the best decisions of my life.
