Context: In EDLIT 731 we had the opportunity to administer a variety of assessments to two students in our class. Then we had to collect, interpret and report the assessment data of one student and provide instructional suggestions that build on the student’s strengths and addresses their difficulties.
Reflection:
After working with my student in a one on one setting I was able to fully understand their strengths and struggles both formally and informally. This intimate setting allowed me to create, implement and evaluate a curriculum that was engaging and supportive of their needs. Being able to understand your student as an individial in order to differentiate instruction is detrimental to their school success.
