MADE MANIFEST
Fantasy has always been an important part of my life- even my earliest artwork was of a primitive three-headed dragon with lazers firing out of all three mouths and all six eyes. I have always felt that there is nothing quite as rewarding as the development of a mythos and an entirely new world in which to accommodate it. This form of escapism does not detract from the beauty of real life. In fact, a mental world incorporates diverse elements- the symmetry of the meridian lines of the human body in traditional chinese medicine, the flag of acrid cigarette smoke that trails some passers-by, the geometrical shapes of rural and urban landscapes when viewed from behind the window of a moving vehicle. Such experiences contribute to my life as well as those subjects expressed in my art, strange cities and figures that range from the dreamlike to the absolutely nightmarish.
