Workshops

As a student teacher at Brooklyn High School of the Arts and as a Group Leader at the PAZ After School Program, I attended several professional development meetings and workshops on detecting child abuse, establishing classroom routines and environment, Social-Emotional Learning, and Conflict Resolution.

I attended a professional workshop called "Cultivating Global Citizenship" at the Tanenbaum Center for Interreligious Understanding in Spring 2011.

I attended a "Teacher Candidate to Teacher Professional" workshop, hosted by the Hunter College School of Education and led by Michael Fisher, in Spring 2013.

I attended Morningside Center for Teaching Social Responsibility's Annual Courageous Schools Conference in May 2011 and May 2013.

Teaching Plans

Within my first few years of teaching, I hope to continue developing my professional skills and teaching practices with further learning opportunities.  I'd like to strike balance in my lessons between pragmatic, skill-based practice and intellectual, thought-provoking discussion. I would also like to extend my teaching practices into the theater community through school partnerships with non-profit theater companies such as BAM and the Theater Development Fund.
