                                     The Power of Cultural Myths

In our world, culture is one of the few abstract “things”, which exist along the mankind, without alternative. This means that culture can’t be replaced, because it’s a primary thing, defining us as an individual (or nation). It gives people their own selves, inclination towards the different goals and “shapes the way people think”.

All the reasonable inhabitants of the earth, experience influence of the culture, even a feral child. However only few of them analyses that they “live in cultural web”, and everything they want or consider as norms of behavior, comes not from them, but out of the culture they were raised with. The roots of the culture is so deeply grown inside people, that almost blinds them and makes them think that their culture is the best and true one (god given).

It’s very interesting that culture was germed and developed by humans, and now it defines us. The roles were changed and people look like puppets of something too powerful. But cultures don’t exist with limited amount, it can be created inside us, new and fresh one, as the different sets of beliefs and norms. But the point is that nobody exists without culture, because it’s not a thing but an idea, defining world inside and outside us.

Even through that human can adopt to several kinds of cultures, the first one will not ever be forgotten, because of its huge power. It could be buried deeply inside us, replaced by other one, but dies only with us.
